In the Light (ACIM)

There is a light that this world cannot give.
Yet you can give it, as it was given to you.
And as you give it, it shines fourth
to call you from the world and follow it.
For this light will attract you
As nothing in this world can do.

Ask for the light
And learn that you are the light.

Sit quietly and close your eyes.
The light within you is sufficient.
It alone has power
To give the gift of sight to you.
Exclude the outer world,
And let your thoughts fly
To the peace within.
They know the way.

In shining peace within you
Is the perfect purity
In which you were created.
Fear not to look upon the lovely truth in you.
Look past the darkness to the holy place
Where you will see the light.

Shining purity,
Wholly untouched by guilt
And wholly loving,
Is bright within you.

Light is unlimited,
And spreads across the world
in quiet joy.

Only you can deprive yourself of anything.
Do not oppose this realization,
For it is truly the beginning
of the dawn of light.

Remember also that the denial
Of this simple fact takes many forms,
And these you must learn to recognize
and to oppose steadfastly, without exception.
This is a crucial step in your re-awakening.
