Maybe it was the fresh fallen snow outside, maybe it was the delicious home-made mince pies, maybe it was the fact that everyone needed a blanket on their lap, maybe it was the card and gift giving, maybe it was Holy Spirit’s loving presence, maybe it was the comfort of being with good-hearted, like-minded friends?
Whatever it was something was in the air last week, something wonderful! Christmas is upon us and A Course in Miracles holds such lovely teachings on the rebirth of the Christ within each and every one of us.
This week we took turns reading the lessons for the coming five days based on the lesson 351 “What am I?” from the “What is” series. Slowly and poignantly each voice spoke with clarity and insight as we read:
Lesson 352
Judgment and love are opposites. From oneCome all the sorrows of the world. But fromThe other comes the peace of God Himself.
Lesson 353
My eyes, my tongue, my hands, my feet today Have but one purpose; to be given Christ To use to bless the world with miracles.
Lesson 354
We stand together, Christ and I, in peace And certainty of purpose. And in Him Is His Creator, as He is in me.
Lesson 355
There is no end to all the peace and joy, And all the miracles that I will give, When I accept God's Word. Why not today?
Lesson 356
Sickness is but another name for sin. Healing is but another name for God. The miracle is thus a call to Him.
Next we read one of Robert Perry’s Christmas articles, followed by personal sharing of our own holiday experiences and opportunities for healing. The best part as always was reading our Miracles Cards to one another and discussing the meanings and applications in our day to day experiences and situations.
Lastly, we finished a little early and enjoyed some fun holiday conversation, and Ruth’s amazingly delicious home-made mince pies!!! As we all left for the evening, there did seem to be something magical in the air; an extra bright light shining from the hearts and minds of us all. The Christ is truly being re-born in the world!
