Miracles Update

Our meeting was a lovely low-key group with two new students and plenty of time to chat and explore basic and advanced Course principles. It's always so joyful when we come together with 'empty hands and open hearts and minds, asking only what Spirit will give.'

This week, as always, Holy Spirit had lots to share with us as we opened with a group meditation called, "Miracles Come to the Quiet Mind" (a beautiful Pathways of Light recording), followed by an excellent reading from Robert Perry's Glossary of the definition of forgiveness according to ACIM, compared to the conventional view offered by the world.

Because the main focus of the Course is healing through forgiveness, we also delved into a good talk about our own concepts of what true forgiveness means and how Course principles can be applied to various life situations, including deeply painful perceptions or old unhealed experiences.

Once again, our pre-discussion served as a solid ground for our lesson 330 "I will not hurt myself again today." This lesson begins with a powerful statement, "Let us this day accept forgiveness as our only function." It then goes in to underscore that forgiveness sets us free as well as the one we hold prisoner to our un-forgiveness. As we completed our lesson reading it became clear that forgiveness is really the key to awakening from the dream of loss and separation for ourselves and our brothers/sisters.

We followed up with the next reading from the "What is..." series titled, "What is the ego?" This started us on a great talk about the ego and its tricks to keep us distracted within its game of misperception. We also focused on how our true Self, the Christ within, realises that we are asleep in a dream of our own making and continues to call to us day and night to awaken and return home to our true state of being within the Heart and Mind of God.

Lastly, we went around the room and took turns sharing from our individual miracle and angel cards. This is always a fun and insightful part of the evening as we each have an opportunity to take a closer look at our thoughts and events throughout the day or week and ask to "choose again" in the Light of fresh feedback from Spirit (and each other).

At the end of the meeting two regular students decided to bless us with their presence (lol), entering with hot cups of tea and fresh perspectives. At that point the night was complete! Ruth also made an amazing Victoria Sponge Cake truly fit for the higher realms of deliciousness, that we all enjoyed until late.
